How can this installed into brick?

Are the 25 year shutters made of the same vinyl as the 50 year ones with the 50 year shutters an extension of the 25 year warranty?

Yes, they are essentially the same product but with an extended warranty.

Does it come with fasteners or do you have to buy them separately?

The installation screws and shutter spikes are included in the purchase. Additional decorative hardware may be purchased separately if desired.

Can the pre-colored shutters be painted? How are ones listed as "paintable" differ from the colored shutters?

My understanding is that pre-colored shutters are unsuitable for painting. Several years ago (and recently again) I purchased paintable shutters to replace my wooden shutters. The paintable shutters have a special coating that acts as a primer and lets you use regular exterior paint. I have had no problems with the paint peeling or fading on these shutters.

Are the shutter sizes "true" sizes or are they nominal?

All vinyl shutters, regardless of make or style, are nominal. This means the shutters can arrive either a little smaller or a little larger than advertised. The manufacturing tolerance is 1/4" larger or smaller than the advertised size. This is caused by the environment when the shutters are being manufactured. Standard shutters are made in a mold and when the products are pulled out of those molds if the weather is cooler, the material contracts and if the weather is warmer, the material expands.

After I order the samples and pick a color can I return the samples for a refund?

The samples are not returnable, however, we do reimburse you the cost of the vinyl shutter sample colors when you place your shutter order. Along with your receipt, you will receive a coupon code to deduct the cost of the samples from the order. Give us a call if you have any issues applying this discount.

Is the diameter of the middle horizontal bar the same as the top bar?

Yes the diameter across the center is the same as the top.

Is it possible to install these using shutter clips for a more hidden appearance?

The shutter clips are specifically designed to be used with Mid America shutters (item #0002 or #0001), they would not work with these shutters in particular.

Can these shutters be mounted on existing hinges?

You can use existing hardware, however, you'll want to make sure that these shutters are installed in a fixed position as they are not intended to close (the back of the shutter is hollow).
