We offer our wood beams in 7 beautiful wood species. The popular Knotty Alder Wood Beam is the perfect choice if you want to show off a rustic, painted or stained wood beam. Or we offer 5 hardwoods that are perfect when trying to match your other stained millwork. We offer Cherry, Mahogany, Maple, Poplar, Red Oak, and Walnut
Knotty Alder
Knotty Alder
Abundant in quantity, the Alder wood species is one of the most common wood species in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States, thus making it one of the most affordable. Alder wood has a beautiful reddish brown appearance. It is characterized by its straight grain and even texture. Those physical characteristics make this wood species great for both staining and painting.
Cherry
Cherry
Cherry wood products have an appealing range of red tones. Additionally, the Cherry wood is known for its smooth texture and impressive strength. This is the perfect wood species to stain if a project deems it necessary. Whether or not it is stained, Cherry wood products are a beautiful compliment to any home project.
Sapele Mahogany
Sapele Mahogany
Sapele Mahogany is an extremely strong and rare wood species. Characterized as having straight to interlocked grain and a medium coarse texture, the Sapele Mahogany wood is incredibly durable. Because of its strength and durability, it is perfect for both interior and exterior use. Additionally, it can be both stained and painted.
Poplar
Poplar
Poplar wood is the paler of wood species with its yellowish brown heartwood and light yellow to white sapwood. It typically has a straight, uniform grain with a medium texture. This particular softwood is perfectly fine to stain, however we recommend using a stain conditioner before staining.
Red Oak
Red Oak
Arguably, the most popular hardwood in the United States, Red Oak can be seen in a variety of different applications. It is known as being quite hard with a coarse texture, but it is a fantastic material to work with, either by hand or with machine tools. Additionally, the Red Oak can be stained fairly easily as well! We do recommend doing a quick sanding of the product before staining it.
Walnut
Walnut
Walnut is an imported lumber with an exceptionally even grain that makes this particular wood species visually stunning. Due to its intense density, there is little to no filler required before painting or staining the Walnut wood product. Finally, it is perfect for both interior and exterior use as it is very durable concerning decay resistance.
White Oak
White Oak
There is no need to compromise durability for beauty, which is why the White Oak wood species is the best of both worlds. With a straight grain, the White Oak is perfect to stain or faux finish. It is rated as incredibly strong. Unlike Red Oak, White Oak is resistant to rot and suitable for both interior and exterior applications.
