Pilasters are used to frame the vertical sides of entryways. The most common place to see pilasters is around a front door, but they can also be used to add style and definition to garage doors and windows. Pilaster styles
Pilasters are typically moulded with a plinth block above the pilaster section, which may be fluted, smooth, or paneled. The double panel pilaster is a popular paneled pilaster style that has a lot of character. It has two panels, usually with the larger of the two panels on the top portion of the pilaster. Using double panel pilasters is a great way to add texture to your door and window trim.
