Madison Niche, 5.12.2008 To all, I am a self employed General Contractor in S.C. Upon recieving my niche I throughly inspected, no damage. Good news when it's made of foam, but with the packing they did at warehousing you would need to throw it like a football or set an entire truck worth of goods on it to damage it. Good job on that. The shipping time was great as well. The niche itself was of good quality. It's considered one piece but with the way the molds meet it's almost like a couple pieces put together, but again it's actually one piece. As to installation on the product, wen't good for me, but I am a professional. It's not intended to be screwed or nailed, but glued on. This choice of installation is actually better for most due to the possibility of shifting a little should you come out of level and plumb. I myself glued and screwed due to installing over stucco on a spanish style renovation I am doing. If you must screw, they say to predrill the hole. I myself give the professional advise of countersinking a small bit as well so you can dab a little caulk over the screw and with a little paint none, including you, will know it has screws period. My job turned out very well, Madison Niche put the final touches on the front exterior of the house. Changed the entire look once installed. I recommend this product hands down to all, and also good luck on finding a better price. I will use these niches in the future along with other products. Detail on niche couldn't get much better, nice job guy's. "Note: I've installed fiberglass and wood niches as well and other than the added pain, weight, and price, unless you know your gonna knock this thing around, you can't go wrong with it!!" Hope this helps to all looking. Patrick General Contractor |
