How to determine your mantel width

Overall top width will equal your stone width "A" plus 2 overhangs plus 1/4" (1) if your cap will sit on top of fireplace stone. In the menu we have added the 1/4" for you.

Step 2

How to determine your mantel depth

Overall top depth of cap mantel is usually 8", with a standard bottom depth as shown in chart (4). Your mantel may be deeper if the stone on which it will sit is thicker than (4). To determine your mantel depth , add your stone depth "B" plus one overhang (1) plus 1/8". In the menu we have added the 1/8" for you.
