Product Overview
Plinth blocks are used as bases for columns, pilasters, and for door, window, and fireplace framing. As a base for columns or monuments, the plinth block has been used for millennia, and can be inscribed with molding, bas relief, or written engravings. When used as trim for doors, windows, or fireplaces, plinth blocks and rosettes can give a home a unique, distinctive look. The plinth block sits at the base of the corners of a door, window, or fireplace, acting as a support for the overlying rosettes and moulding.

Plinth blocks come in a variety of materials, including stucco, plaster, brick, concrete, stone, and wood. Wooden plinth blocks, which are most often used to trim a door, window, fireplace, or cabinet, are manufactured from many woods, commonly white pine, poplar, oak, mahogany, maple, and cherry. The wood can be hand-carved, painted, finished, or unfinished. Plinth blocks can be used to beautifully frame doors, windows, fireplaces, or cabinets, and the each design can add a personal touch to any home. Decorative plinth blocks can be carved with classic patterns such as daisies or targets, or with symbols or elements from nature such as leaves, fruits, birds, seashells, moose, bear, fish, and suns. Simple and functional plinth blocks are often used at the base of fireplaces and doors to bring the eye upward to the mantel or carved rosettes.

Plinth blocks can come pre-cast and ready to install. To create doors, windows, and fireplaces that have a distinguished, classic, or unique look, consider trimming them with plinth blocks and rosettes.
