Specify the Width and Height of Your Shutter The shutters are to look as though, if closed, they would cover your entire window. To calculate the correct size, take the width of your window and divide that by 2. Example: a window width of 36" would best be matched with a 18" wide pair of shutters. For double windows it is recommended to take the total window width and divide it by 4 to get your shutter width. For triple windows take the window width and divide it by 6 to get your shutter width. The shutter height should be the total window height, not including the sill. It should give the appearance that if the shutters were functional that they would cover the opening and/or glass. Shutter height may vary +/- 3/8". |

Poor paintable plastic fasteners, 11.12.2009 The only problem I had was with your plastic fasteners that came with the PG shutters. Their heads are too smooth and as such paint does not adhere to them but peels off after the paint dries. I suggest you place a note in the fastener bag that recommends that the heads be sanded before painting. |
