The wood can be hand-carved, painted, finished, or unfinished. Plinth blocks can be used to beautifully frame doors, windows, fireplaces, or cabinets, and the each design can add a personal touch to any home. Decorative plinth blocks can be carved with classic patterns such as daisies or targets, or with symbols or elements from nature such as leaves, fruits, birds, seashells, moose, bear, fish, and suns. Simple and functional plinth blocks are often used at the base of fireplaces and doors to bring the eye upward to the mantel or carved rosettes.
