Home Decor on a Budget, 10.8.2009
Purchased this kit for my 10-foot long hallway. Although I measured in advance, I failed to include my existing baseboard in the measurement. Thus, if you decide the same, you will need to know that the height of the kit is about 29" from the top of your existing baseboard. The baseboard included in the kit is about 8.5" in height. The beadboard is fiberboard. I purposely purchased this kit because I knew I would have to cut due to the presence of doors. I purchased the Dremel Multimax for cutting. I am giving the kit 3 stars because it is truly a well designed product if you have a home with zero architectural elements and it includes all the pieces you will need. However, when I compare it to the wood wainscoting in the adjacent kitchen purchased through Home Depot, I can see a big difference in the height and quality. Nevertheless, I think it will look fine once I have finished and painted it. It will certainly enhance the hallway. I would, however, reconsider purchasing in the future simply because I prefer a wood finish. |
