Exterior vinyl shutters have four basic styles. Board and batten vinyl shutters look like wide solid boards with two, or three cross members holding them in place as a rectangle. Paneled shutters are solid, with raised squares spaced along the length. Louvered shutters are probably the most popular exterior vinyl shutter. There are also arched vinyl shutters, with louvers or panels.
Vinyl shutters are available in many colors that won't fade over time. They are also weather resistant and will not peel, rot or crack. More and more people are replacing their existing, failed wood shutters with the more durable and time tested vinyl shutter.
