Product Overview

Corbels in historical architecture are often made of the same stone material as the building. Millwork on home exteriors is traditionally made of wood, but urethane materials have become very popular due to their superior ability to resist damage such as cracking, rotting, or fading. They are often cheaper to use than wood products as well. The most commonly used solid plastic material for home exteriors is high-density polyurethane. The higher density the urethane material, the greater is its strength and stability. Often plastic products require no water sealing or staining, making your home improvements that much easier.

Corbels - Attractive but need primer?, 4.9.2007

Product appearance excellent. Instructions imply the product can be stained, but stains we tried did not penetrate, and the product was painted instead. The first coat of latex paint which was sprayed on by a contract painter bubbled and left a rough appearance in places, so it had to be scraped and refinished (repairs still in work). Recommend it be primed before painting.
