The two pieces do not completely touch each other, so i am trying to fill in the gaps with joint compound bow.will have to sand and repaint after that. It turned out to be more hassle that if I bought a solid one piece. The back surface is rough, so there may be gaps between the ceiling and the piece. But from far away it looks good.

Love it. I had been looking for a 2 piece ceiling medaillion everywhere and couldn't find it. Not only did Architecural Depot have one, but it was beautiful and reasonably priced. I purchased a floral pattern ceiling medallion, constructed in two pieces and containing a 5 and 3/8" cavity for the ceiling light fixture. The medallion style was chosen to maintain the Victorian decor of our house. It was easily applied to the ceiling with two beads of construction cement and held in place overnight to ensure bonding. The small gaps between the two halves were filled with caulk and then the medallion was painted to match the ceiling color. Painting was made easier thanks to the medallion being primed. I am extremely pleased with the final look and plan to purchase additional medallions from ArchitecturalDepot for other rooms in the house. Medallions are hard to find yet ArchitecturalDepot offers a wide selection in several dimensions and styles. Shipping was quick and the item well packed. I certainly recommend this item to others.

I did not want to take out an ancient chandelier to put up a medallion, and this was perfect. i had to cut out about a 1/2" from the center edge to make it fit around the base, but once that was done construction glue and one screw on each piece were all it took to secure it, then while i was caulking around the outside i just covered the screws instead of pulling them out. took me about 1/2 hour altogether, and I've already had lots of complements on it. also, the in-store price for the one place that had this item was much higher.

I loved the look of the 2 piece medallion, but it was too small id, that is. I put it in another room not intended. I still need one that is 6 and l/2" id. it looks good though in the bedroom.
