For Vinyl these do look like iron on the shutter and you cannot beat the price. We have not installed yet but i taped them on to make sure i liked them before we install permanently and I really liked the way they look. I got new Batten Board style shutters (from Lowe's) and they fit in with the colonial style I was going for. They give you screws and instructions for installation but i wonder, these are so light, why couldn't you just glue them with a really strong, weather graded glue? I am going to look into that as it seems easier than screwing them.
