Crosshead Guidelines & Suggestions
Having the correct width on a crosshead is crucial in achieving that beautiful, architectural look you want. Here are some pointers to help you make your choice.
1. When taking your measurements, make sure to include the width of your casing or trim into account. You do not want it the same width as the opening only.
2. It is architecturally correct to have your crosshead be a hair bigger than your opening and casing or trim.
3. It is NOT architecturally correct to have your crosshead smaller than your opening and casing or trim.
4. You can adjust the size of your crosshead by cutting it in the middle, and then butt joining them together using an adhesive like PL Premium's Polyurethane Construction Adhesive.
